How to Throw the Best 4th of July Pool Party

Independence Day is right around the corner which means it’s time to party! Beat the heat and throw a patriotic pool party for your family and friends.

Check out these 5 tips to throwing a pool party that people will talk about for months to come!

1. Red, White, and Blue

With any party, decorations are key! Keep yours on point by using red, white, and blue accents all-throughout your backyard. American flags are a definite must. On theme napkins, plates, ribbons and cups are also great ways to add a bit of patriotic flair without costing too much.

Don’t forget about the food! Food is an often overlooked way to inject some color into your party. Vanilla ice cream with blueberries and strawberries, blue and red Kool-Aid and of course a flag cake all make for fun Independence Day-themed food. For a truly Instagrammable event, serve your drinks in Mason jars wrapped with red, white, and blue ribbons!

2. Drink Up

It’s sure to be one hot day so make sure your guests stay hydrated! Serving punch is a great way for guests to cool down and mingle while they’re at it. Don’t forget to include an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options (in red, white, and blue, of course!) to accommodate each of your guest’s preferences.

Most importantly, don’t forget the water! Most hosts often underestimate the amount of water they need to serve at parties. With temperatures reaching the 100s, it’s better to over prepared than underprepared.

A cute way to serve it is by filling a small inflatable pool with ice and drinks!

3. Flaunt Cute Bikinis

What pool party is complete without amazing swimwear? Now is the perfect time to bring out your new bikini (and show it off to your crush 😉 ). We suggest wearing, you guessed it, a red, white, or blue bikini!

4. Prepare Pool Essentials

When hosting a pool party, it’s important to prepare a few swim time essentials namely: towels, towels and more towels! You’ll be surprised by how many of your guests will forget to pack one.

Pool noodles and adorable floaties are also a must to having the best party ever. Think flamingos, swans and even unicorn floaties!

Don’t forget to put on lots of sunscreen and wear your sunglasses before you head out. While looking cute is a top priority, so is being sun safe!

5. Bring on the Games

Pool games are a fantastic way to break the ice (or get up and personal with the boy you’ve been eyeing). Think Marco Polo or Chicken which don’t require any prior preparations.

A cannonball splash competition or limbo are other fun options, especially for those with a competitive streak.

Looking to up the ante? Decorate your pool with red, white, and blue balloons which can also double as water balloons for an awesome way to cool off.
