Tropical Dream Destinations for Your Squad
With school starting again and work can be such a drag sometimes, isn’t it just so fun to daydream about where else you’d rather be with your girlfriends? Before the year ends, gather all your girlfriends and plan the trip of a lifetime to one of these tropical paradises that’s sure to make lasting memories of you guys basking in the sun and having some fun.
1. Pig Island, Bahamas

The Bahamas has long been famous for its pristine beaches and diverse tropical wildlife. While you can expect to find sea turtles, fishes and corals at any beach, you probably won’t find this in any other beach: pigs! That’s right - Pig Island got its name from the adorable little pigs and piglets you can find swimming the Bahamas’ crystal clear waters. Now wouldn’t you and your girls just love to have a photo with those cuties?
How to get there: Pig Island is located on Big Major Cay in the Exumas, around 35 miles southeast of Nassau. If you want to go swimming with these cuties, simply book a full-day excursion with a local tour company. Tours normally run from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
What to do: Apart from frolicking on the beach with the pigs, there are a ton of other activities for you and your friends to do on Pig Island. Explore the beautiful white beaches of Big Major Cay, go sailing and snorkeling in Staniel Cay, swim with the sharks in Compass Cay, or visit Bitter Guana Cay to see the Exuma Island iguanas.
2. Moorea, French Polynesia

Moorea will steal your heart the moment you see it! Known as the “magical island” and its heart shape, Moorea is one of French Polynesia’s premier destinations. Surrounded by a big turquoise lagoon, this volcanically formed island is the third-best island in the world according to Conde Nast Traveler - and for good reason!
How to get there: Book a ticket to Papa'ete in Tahiti and from there, grab a ferry to take you to Moorea. While it is quite a trip, we promise you it’s well worth it! Might as well take this time to bond with your friends and you’ll be there before you know it. We don’t mean to oversell but the views out there are spectacular! Clear, sapphire waters and lush green forests cover the entire island. Honestly, it’s heaven on earth.
What to do: Go snorkeling in Lagoonarium de Moorea, a protected part of the water, and grab the girls to hike the island’s many lush hills! You can also catch a traditional Tahitian show at the Tiki Village, visit the local juice factory and sample Tahitian punch, pineapple wine, and even sugar cane liquor. Other activities include circling Moorea by car or by bike (don’t forget to stop by for some fresh ice-cold coconuts or fresh tuna!) or climb up the Belvedere Lookout and take the perfect selfie with the gorgeous view!
3. Siargao, Philippines

Siargao is known as the surfing capital of the Philippines so if you and your friends want to hang loose, you know where to go! Siargao is home to the famous Cloud 9, a prime surfing spot where several surfing competitions are held each year. It also houses a beautiful boardwalk and viewing area for you to watch surfers catching some waves or watch the breathtaking sunset.
How to get there: Since Siargao is one of the 7,107 islands in the Philippines, you’ll have to take a plane from Manila to the island, and afterwards take a van from the airport to the city. Boat men are available to tour you around the many islands and offer activities to do by the boardwalk, so don’t be shy!
What to do: Siargao is known for more than just surfing! The best way to explore the island is to book your stay at a hostel (and meet some new friends along the way!) and rent a motorcycle so you can go to all the outskirts of the island. Driving a motorcycle not your thing? They also have cheap van rentals that can take you anywhere you desire! Visit the Magpupungko Rock Pools (make sure to go during low tide), rent a paddleboat and sail along Sugba Lagoon or dive off its popular diving platform (just like our girl @simgrasso in the photo above)! Just a few minutes off the city are the most popular Guyam, Daku and Naked islands where you can have an amazing seafood lunch prepared by your boatman! Smoothie bowls are amazing in Shaka Cafe at Cloud 9, and don’t forget to enjoy the wild nightlife, with a different bar hosting every night!
4. Saint Petersburg, Florida

Don’t wanna go too far? Sitting snugly in between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, Saint Petersburg is one of Florida’s busiest and well-known beaches! The weather is beautiful there throughout the entire year, giving it the nickname “Sunshine City.” Apart from its calming waters and white sand beaches, you can also find The Beach Walk, a seaside promenade with adorable shops and cafes, and Pier 60, a 1,080-foot fishing pier which is arguably the best place to catch the sunset.
How to get there: St. Petersburg/Clearwater area is served by two international airports - St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport and the Tampa Airport. We recommend taking the The St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport as it puts you just minutes away from the beaches with lower fares and less crowds.
What to do: You can rent some jet skis and paddleboards and enjoy the water, or throw caution to the wind and go parasailing. We also recommend going to the Sunken Gardens, sample the delicious food at the Saturday Market, and work on your tan. Art more of your thing? Visit the great selection of museums including the Dali Museum, Museum of Fine Arts or the Chihuly Collection.
