Blackbough Goals for 2020

Can you believe it, it’s not only a new year but also a new decade! And instead of sulking over what happened or didn’t happen last year, it’s better to go hard on your goals for 2020 and make sure you reach them. If you’re still unsure about your goals and resolutions this coming year, here are some suggestions that we ourselves from the team are planning to do!

1. Go Green

We only have one planet and sadly and we all need to work together to make it a better and greener place. Small things and changes can create a big impact, so this year, we’re opting to switch to reusable utensils and straws. We love ordering takeout in the office, so we’ve decided we’re skipping the disposables! Refusing fast fashion and saying no to plastic straws whenever you can go a long way!

2. Live a Healthier Lifestyle

This one may have been on our list for years but in 2020, it’s time to actually commit! We’re adding more veggies to our diet, squeezing in a 45 minute workout four times a week, and walking whenever it’s possible. Oh and of course we’re remembering the magical number 8 - both in glasses of water and hours of sleep!

3. Go on a Trip with Friends

There’s so much of the world to explore and we can’t wait to book a trip with our friends - and neither should you! While we’re all busy being #girlbosses in our own right and working hard for those dreams, making time for your friends and planning an epic getaway should be part of this year’s goals! It’ll be the perfect time to bond with your girls, make new memories and snap that shot in your hottest Blackbough ‘kini! You can read about our dream destinations on our previous blog post here but our current fave is still Siargao, Philippines!

4. Learn a New Skill

There are so many new things we’ve been wanting to try but never got around to. This year, we’re finally doing it and we do believe that it’s never too late for anything! Everyone should start to learn at least one new skill: whether it be baking, learning another language or even dance lessons. There are so many classes out there, both online and in the real world, so there’s really no excuse not to give it a go! No pressure on being a total master of it, what’s important is that you get that foot in the door!

5. Conquer A Fear

We all have our own fears, but this new year is the perfect time to conquer them. One of us is completely afraid of heights, another is totally scared of cats. Whatever your fear is, there’s no better time to get over those and live more - let the FOMO take over and make the jump!

What are your goals in 2020?

Coastal Cleanup with Blackbough

At Blackbough Swim, we believe that the beauty of our oceans deserves to be cherished and preserved. Our love for the sea extends far beyond just creating stylish swimwear; it's a commitment to protect the very waters that inspire us. Last September 10th 2023, we took our dedication to the next level as we embarked on a coastal cleanup at Malinao Beach, Siargao, Philippines.

Our newly-released Good Stuff and Summer Romance collections are close to our hearts–and we’re excited to tell you why! Material is always an important consideration when designing our pieces, and we thought it would be a great opportunity to share some local culture with our international audience… in the form of textiles from our home in the Philippines.
